The battle for one of the most coveted trophies in global football resumes

This match will score a new horizon for AC Milan if they emerge as victors, as it will mark the first time the team will win the same trophy consecutively in the same stadium (following their win at the Olympic Stadium in 1994). Liverpool, however, has already had the benefit to triumph such an achievement during the pre-Championship League era when they won the European Cup at Stadium Olimpico, Rome in 1977 and 1984.
