DUBAI, March 8, 2009: The 2009 UEFA Champions League is poised at an interesting stage as the 16 teams that qualified for the knock-out phase play their second leg matches from March 10 to 11, 2009. Live coverage of the matches will be broadcast on ART Sports, which is available to football enthusiasts in Dubai and the entire Middle East and North African (MENA) region on the Firstnet Premium and Pehla Gold & Silver platforms, The first leg saw English teams Arsenal and Chelsea scoring wins against Roma and Juventus respectively while Bayern got the better of Sporting 5-0, all the other matches ending in draws. The second leg will provide real excitement as the 16 teams vie to seal a place in the quarter finals.”

Progress to the quarter-final stage, to be played over the first half of April, depends on the aggregrate results of the two matches – one home and the other away – each of the 16 teams in this phase play against each other. The semifinals are scheduled from April 28 to May 6, while the final between the best two club teams of the year will be played in Rome on May 27.
The three qualifying rounds of the 2009 UEFA Champions League were played in July-August, 2008, with the 32 teams qualifying for the group stage in September-December 2008, looking for a place in the current knockout phase.
